Abstract

Shizofrenija je kronična psihoza, ki nastane pred 45–tim letom. Zanjo so značilni simptomi s področja številnih psiholoških procesov. Najpogostejše motnje so na področju mišljenja, čustvovanja, zaznavanja, hotenja, psihomotorike ter sprejemanju samega sebe in okolice. Diplomsko delo predstavlja eno izmed težji duševnih motenj - shizofrenijo in ob njej vlogo medicinske sestre v prepoznavanju potreb ter obravnavo starostnika s shizofrenijo. Metodologija raziskovanja. Uporabljeni sta bili deskriptivna in kvantitativna metoda dela. Za zbiranje podatkov je uporabljen vprašalnik. Podatki so statistično obdelani s programom Microsoft Excel in Microsoft Word. Rezultati. Analiza podatkov je pokazala, da so najpogostejše težave pri pacientih s shizofrenijo nezainteresiranost za osebno higieno, nesprejemanje okolice, slabi odnosi do drugih, odvisnost od drugih in zmanjšanje apetita. Svojci se v večini vključujejo v proces zdravstvene nege pasivno in začnejo sodelovati šele takrat, ko nastopijo zdravstvene težave. Sklep. Shizofrenija je bolezen, ki se pojavlja v zgodnjem obdobju odraslosti, prisotna pa je lahko tudi v starosti. Medicinske sestre imajo zelo pomembno vlogo v obravnavi pacienta s shizofrenijo. S pacienti morajo vzpostaviti empatičen odnos, biti morajo iskrene in dosledne, saj so takšni bolniki še bolj občutljivi. Medicinske sestre morajo zaupati v svoje sposobnosti in biti strokovno usposobljene.

Secondary abstract: Schizophrenia is a chronic psychosis which emerges before the age of 45 . Symptoms in the field of numerous psychological processes are significant for it. Most frequent disorders are in the field of thinking , emotion, perception, volition, psychomotorics and in the acceptance of oneself and surroundings. Graduate paper introduces one of more severe mental disorders - schizophrenia and thereby the role of a nurse in the identification of needs and the treatment of an elderly person with schizophrenia. Methodology. Descriptive and quantitative method of approach were applied. A questionnaire is used for data collection. Data are statistically processed with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word program. Results. Data analysis showed that most frequent difficulties of patients with schizophrenia are lack of interest for personal hygiene, rejection of surroundings , poor relations towards others , dependence on others and decreased appetite. Relatives are in the majority passively included in the process of nursing care and begin to engage only when health problems occur. Conclusion. Schizophrenia is a disease which occurs in early adulthood , it can also be present in old age. Nurses have an important role in the treatment of a patient with schizophrenia. They have to establish an emphatic relationship, be honest and consistent because such patients are even more sensitive. Nurses need to trust their own skills and be professionally competent.
