Abstract

Edino pomorsko tovorno pristanišče v Sloveniji, Luko Koper, čakajo novi izzivi. Če želi naše pristanišče ostati med vodilnimi v severnem Jadranu, morajo povečati svoj pretovor. Prejšnja leta so lahko povečevali pretovor z mehkimi ukrepi znotraj podjetja, toda zdaj bo treba opraviti veliki infrastrukturni projekt, ki bo Luki Koper zagotovil nemoteno poslovanje za prihodnost. Že pred časom, ko se je količina pretovora na obstoječi infrastrukturi bližala maksimumu, so v luki s pomočjo vlade Republike Slovenije naredili državni prostorski načrt, kateri je predvideval, da se v pristanišču podaljšata prva dva pomola in da se izgradi nov III. pomol. Toda zaradi mnogih težav se ta načrt še ni uresničil. Ugotovili smo, da trenutno izgradnja pomola ni potrebna. Luka Koper nima dobre transportne povezave z zaledjem, saj trenutna železniška povezava enostavno ne omogoča večjega pretovora. Zaradi gospodarske krize država in Luka Koper nimata dovolj velikih finančnih sredstev za izgradnjo.

Secondary title: Construction of a third pier in the port of Koper
Secondary abstract: The only cargo port in Slovenia, Luka Koper has to face new challenges. If our port wants to remain among the leading ports in the northern Adriatic Sea, it has to increase its handling capacities. In the few years they were able to increase their handling capacities with the help of soft measures within the company, but now it will be necessary to make a large infrastructure project, which will ensure smooth operations in the future. A few years ago, when handling capacities on existing infrastructure were near the maximum, the harbor authority and the Government of the Republic of Slovenia made a national spatial plan, which anticipated that the port extends the first two piers, and to build one new, so called III. pier. But because of the many problems the spatial plan wasn’t carried out jet. We come to the conclusion that building of a new pier isn’t necessary, because Luka Koper hasn’t got good transportation link with hinterland, because the existing railway track doesn’t allow ports bigger handling capacities. And because of the financial crisis not the country of Slovenia or Luka Koper hasn’t got enough financial means to build a new pier.
