Abstract

V današnjem času si življenja brez avtomobilov skoraj ne moremo več predstavljati. Avtomobili so postali del našega vsakdanjika, saj v njih prebijemo vedno več časa. To pa pomeni da se v cestnem prometu vsakodnevno srečujemo s situacijami, ki nas lahko privedejo do prometnih nesreč. Velikokrat so nesreče posledica človekovega ravnanja in napak, vendar pa je konfliktov ki nas privedejo do takšnih situacij več, in nikakor niso vezani samo na voznike. Napake in konflikte v prometu pa vsaj deloma omiljuje sodobna tehnologija, ki nam predvsem v zadnjih letih omogoča varnejšo vožnjo in pomaga preprečevati situacije, ki nas lahko privedejo do prometnih nesreč. Natančneje gre za inteligentne sisteme v vozilih, ki s svojim delovanjem v prvi vrsti pomagajo pri preprečevanju nesreč, če pa se nesreče ne da preprečiti, blažijo njene posledice, in s tem zmanjšujejo število žrtev v cestnem prometu. Razvoj inteligentnih sistemov poteka zelo hitro, sorazmerno z razvojem avtomobilov, vedno strožja pa je tudi zakonodaja, ki predpisuje opremljenost novih avtomobilov na področju varnosti. Vse to za zmanjšanje števila prometnih nesreč in žrtev v prometu. Ali sta sodobna tehnologija in strožja zakonodaja res učinkoviti, bomo ugotovili v primerjavi stanja varnosti v cestnem prometu med Slovenijo in Hrvaško, ki imata zaradi članstva Slovenije v Evropski uniji različne varnostne standarde v cestnem prometu.

Secondary title: Modern technologies and the safety of road traffic
Secondary abstract: Nowadays life without cars is almost unthinkable. Cars have become a part of our everyday lives, because we spend more and more time in them. This means that in the road traffic every day we encounter situations that may lead us to accidents. Many accidents are the result of human actions and errors, but the conflicts which lead us to such situations are not related only to drivers. Errors and conflicts in traffic are at least partly reduced by modern technology, which last few years allows us to improve driving safety and helps to prevent situations that may lead us to a road accident. More specifically, it is about intelligent vehicle systems, which act primarily to help prevent accidents, but if an accident cannot be prevented, they mitigate the consequences, and thus reduce the number of road fatalities. Development of intelligent systems is proceeding very rapidly, in proportion to development of the cars. Stricter is also legislation, which prescribes safety equipment of new cars. All this to reduce the number of road accidents and victims in traffic. Are modern technology and stricter legislation really effective, we will find that in comparison of state of road safety between Slovenia and Croatia, which have, because of Slovenia`s membership in European Union, different road safety standards.
