Analiza sprememb strukture relacijskih podatkovnih baz

Abstract

V magistrskem delu smo se osredotočili na področje sprememb strukture relacijske podatkovne baze tekom njene uporabe. Spremembe so lahko bodisi posledica spremenjenih zahtev naročnika bodisi so izvedene z namenom optimizacije. Problem, ki smo ga v magistrski nalogi izpostavili je, kako najbolje oblikovati shemo podatkovne baze, da bo ta prilagojena izvedbi nadaljnjih sprememb, ki jo bodo doletele tekom njene uporabe. Preučili smo različne pristope takšnega oblikovanja podatkovne sheme ter izvedli raziskavo na področju sprememb strukture relacijske podatkovne baze v slovenskih podjetjih. Namen raziskave je bil raziskati rokovanje slovenskih podjetij s spremembami strukture relacijskih podatkovnih baz. Na osnovi ugotovitev in pregledane literature na tem področju ter rezultatov raziskave in lastnih izkušenj pri delu s podatkovnimi bazami smo izdelali smernice, ki razvijalcem in strokovnjakom na področju podatkovnih baz na preprost in učinkovit način predstavljajo usmeritev pri izdelavi podatkovne sheme, ki bo kar najbolje prilagojena nadaljnjim spremembam tekom njene uporabe.

Secondary abstract:	In this thesis we focus on the area of changes in the structure of relational databases during its use. Changes can either be due to changes in customer requirements or are performed in order to optimize database (database refactoring). We have focused on providing guidelines on best approach to a database schema design that will adjust to the implementation of further changes. Different approaches to a data scheme design have been considered. We have carried out a survey of changes in the structure of a relational database in Slovenian companies. The purpose of the study was to investigate the handling of Slovenian companies to change the structure of relational databases. Based on the findings, reviewed literature in this area, the results of the research and my own experience in working with databases, we have developed guidelines that in a simple and efficient way represent directions to developers and database experts on how to make database scheme that will best adjust to the further changes during its use.
