Abstract

Secondary title: ǂAn ǂempirical analysis of the export function for Austria and Slovenia
Secondary abstract: The work of the diploma project contains an integrated econometric analysis of export functions for the countries of Austria and Slovenia. The chapters are set in a logical sequence and addressing the progressive study of the export functions based on the theory of international trade, existing studies and actual data for the selected countries. Baseline quarterly data for aggregate exports of Austria and Slovenia, covering the period from 1999 to 2012, was used in the form of chain indices to calculate export functions. Two export functions are specified for each country, which were assessed by computer program EViews based on the method of ordinary least squares. Partial regression coefficients as well as basic statistics are calculated and explained for all forms of export functions. Export functions were tested for the adequacy of specifications and for the stability of parameters of a regression model. Furthermore, we also verify the validity of the assumptions of the method of ordinary least squares. In conclusion, there is comparison and explanation of the coefficients of the final revised export functions for Austria and Slovenia.
