Abstract

V diplomskem delu, ki je sestavljen iz teoretičnega in empiričnega dela, je predstavljena stigmatizacija pacientov z duševnimi motnjami in njene posledice. Stigmatizacija je sociološki pojem, ki označuje močno neodobravanje in negativen odnos družbe do drugačnosti ter jo lahko razumemo kot zaznamovanost posameznika zaradi določene atipične lastnosti. Beseda stigma izhaja iz grščine in pomeni znamenje oz. znak, najpogosteje nanašajoč se na ožigosanje sužnjev, kriminalcev ali izdajalcev v želji po njihovi izključitvi iz družbe. Ker je stigmatizacija pacientov v porastu, je v diplomskem delu predstavljen tudi koncept stigmatizacije in njena destigmatizacija.

Secondary abstract:	This thesis, which consists of a theoretical and an empirical part, describes stigmatization of patients with mental disorders and its consequences. Stigma is a sociological concept, which indicates a strong disapproval and negative attitude of society towards differences and it can be seen as an individual because of the particular characteristics of atypical attribute. The word stigma derives from Greek and means a sign or symbol, most often referring to the denunciationslaves, criminals or traitors in their exclusion from society. Because patient stigmatization is growing instead of decreasing, this thesis describes the concept of stigmatization and its destigmatization.
