Abstract

V diplomskem delu je prikazan način, kako najučinkoviteje upravljati z računalniki Ministrstva za zunanje zadeve, ki se nahajajo na ministrstvu in Diplomatsko – konzularnih predstavništvih po svetu. Z analizo obstoječega informacijskega sistema je bilo ugotovljeno, da je upravljanje z računalniki, nameščenimi na oddaljenih lokacijah stroškovno, predvsem pa časovno neučinkovito. V nalogi je opisan način odprave teh težav in sicer z uvedbo programskega orodja za oddaljeno upravljanje računalnikov, imenovanega System Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM) 2012. V nalogi so najprej teoretično predstavljene uporabljene tehnologije, od orodja SCCM, virtualizacije, Windows strežnika in strežnika SQL. V drugem, praktičnem delu naloge, je opisan celoten postopek uvedbe orodja SCCM, od same postavitve virtualnih strežnikov, strežnika Windows Server 2012 in SQL strežnika, postopek namestitve orodja SCCM v obstoječi sistem in pa postopki, ki so potrebni za začetek delovanja orodja SCCM v tem okolju. V zadnjem delu pa je, z rešitvijo praktičnega primera, prikazano še dejansko delovanje orodja SCCM, in analiza učinkov uvedbe orodja SCCM v informacijski sistem Ministrstva.

Secondary abstract:	The thesis presents the most effective way of how to manage the computers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which are located in its headquarters and in the diplomatic-consular offices around the world. The analysis of the existing computer network has shown cost – and moreover time - inefficiency of managing computers installed on the distant locations. The thesis describes how such difficulties have been overcome with introduction of the software tool for remote managing of computers, called System Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM) 2012. In the first, more theoretical part of the thesis are presented used technologies, such as the tool SCCM itself, virtualization, Windows server and the SQL server. The second –more practical- part of the thesis illustrates the whole process of introduction of the SCCM tool: setting up the virtual servers, Windows server and the SQL one; procedure of installation of the SCCM tool in the existing system; and procedures needed to introduce functioning of the SCCM tool in that environment. The last part offers a solution of the practical problem, i. e. the actual functioning of the SCCM tool, and includes the analysis of the effects, stemming from the introduction of the SCCM tool in the information system of the Ministry.
