diplomsko delo visokošolskega strokovnega študija Varnost in policijsko delo
Abstract
Poklicno in prostovoljno gasilstvo predstavljata pomembno dejavnost na Slovenskem. Kljub prisotnosti žensk v gasilski organizaciji v Sloveniji so članice pogosto še vedno zapostavljene pri vključevanju v operativne enote gasilskih organizacij. Pomembno vlogo žensk v gasilstvu dokazujejo kar ženske same, ki aktivno sodelujejo in uspešno opravljajo svoja dela v raznih organih gasilske organizacije.

Professional and volunteer fire fighting services represent an important activity in Slovenia. Thesis describes the activity of firefighting service from the second half of the 19th century until the present days in Slovenia. The first serious attempts to set up the professional firefighting organization go back to early 60s of the 19th century. Greater or lesser fires and disasters where people were helpless caused the establishment of the majority of voluntary fire - brigades, whose number has increased over the years. This led to the creation of firefighting associations which connected the fire brigades. Due to different lifestyles, technology development, etc., operations of the firefighting services have changed through years, both in in terms of extent and in terms of complexity of intervention. All this gave rise to innovations in firefighter’s work and education, and improvements of the equipment for firefighting, safety and rescue. Over the years, it has been recognised that for the development of effective firefighting offspring is also needed. When they join fire brigades, young firefighters are trained regarding the operations and functions of firefighting organisation and prepared for their active participation within fire brigades. After 1939 women have also strengthened their positions in firefighting service. Despite the presence of women in the firefighting organisation in Slovenia, they are still often neglected regarding their integration in to the operational firefighting units. Their important role is proved by women themselves who actively participate and successfully perform their tasks in various organs of firefighting organisations. |
