diplomsko delo univerzitetnega študijskega programa Medijske komunikacije
Abstract
V diplomskem delu predstavljamo novinarsko fotografijo, katere sporočilnost in tematika presegata mimobežnost dnevnih novic. Obravnavamo jo kot medij sporočanja, ozaveščanja in manipulacije javnosti, ki s svojo specifično prepričljivostjo posega na področja etike, estetike, umetnosti in simbolnega, s čimer pomembno prispeva k ohranjanju vrednot in kulturne tradicije zahodne civilizacije.

PHOTOJOURNALISM IN THE MASS MEDIA |
Secondary abstract: |
Visual content represents an indespensable part of contemporary mass communication. Although it may seem that moving pictures could have completely overshadowed still photography, in the contex of mass media the latter still remains the very element that continues to address the subject in a more personal manner while leaving space and, above all, time for analysis and contemplation. The thesis introduces journalistic photography and how its ability to communicate and its breadth of subject exceeds that of transient everyday news. It is discussed as a medium of communication, awareness-raising and manipulation of the public. By employing its specific cogency, it interferes in fields of ethics, aesthetics, art and the symbolic and thus significantly contributes to the preservation of cultural values and traditions of Western civilisation. |
