diplomsko delo
Abstract
Podrobneje sta predstavljena načina prečiščevanja in rerafinacije.

Modern technologies of waste oil management |
Secondary abstract: |
The diploma work addresses the issue of waste oil management. The stocks of raw material for oil production (fossil fuels) are becoming difficult to access with current technologies used and are thus limited. As this represent a fundamental part of the problem, a general classification of oils, according to their origin, is presented at the beginning.
The legislations of Slovenia and EU, which defines the collection, storage and disposal of waste oils, are studied. In the main part, refining, incineration and rerefination, as most frequent disposal options, are presented. Moreover, the methods of purification and rerefination are explored in detail. Based on the fact, that the rerefination is the most environmental friendly answer to our problem, a laboratory analysis and comparison between virgin oils and rerefined oils was conducted, which has revealed that the qualities of rerefined oils are comparable to virgin ones.
However, it is not only the quality that is important, but it is also the price, which is nowadays a crucial factor when selecting raw materials in oil production industry. Due to the excellent reputation of virgin base oils and their consistent quality, the rerefined oils will not gain their prominence until they are distinctly less expensive or their use is subsidized by the state. |
