Abstract

Diplomska naloga opisuje prikrito nasilje v športu.

Secondary abstract: With the development of the sport darker sides that are happening behind the scenes, hidden from the glamor of successful athletes are flowing on to the surface. There have been reports of violence occurring above the sportsmen and women in particular on a professional level. Special attention is paid mainly by non-physical (psychological) violence , which is even more difficult to conceal than just physical in addition to physical injuries , leaving serious psychological consequences . We found that violence is mainly due to ignorance of athletes about their rights and the desire to enjoy the competitions and successes. It is worrying that it comes to these and other abuses to very young athletes caused by the pressure from parents and coaches. With growing up gradation of its achievements, the pressure is even greater in the pages of leading figures in the club and ultimately fans. Professional athletes are inherently much renouncing to obtain optimal conditions and resources for training, which will consequently lead to the achievement of excellent results, but because this is not enough to yield to the pressure of their superiors of being banned from speaking at the conferences, exclusion from the club, loss of sponsors etc. in case if the athlete is not working at their direction. We will be presenting types of physical violence, which are already better known to public. Physical violence is more particularly against women athletes than male representatives, some of the violence victims are even children. Most of the types of violence mentioned above occur due to material or financial benefits of leading people. It turns out that most of the violence is caused by the person with the highest position in the club, because they see athletes only as a material benefit, while these athletes subordinate to their superiors simply because of the achievements they might reach in the field of sports.
