Abstract

V teoretičnem delu predstavljamo slovenski in španski šolski sistem, posebej poudarjamo prometno vzgojo, njen pomen in cilje.

Secondary title: THE KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOUR OF EIGHT- AND NINE-YEAR OLD PUPILS
Secondary abstract: The following thesis consists of two completed but reciprocal parts; i.e., the theoretical and the empirical part. The theoretical part of the thesis presents the Slovenian and the Spanish school systems, with special attention paid to road safety education, its importance and objectives. The empirical part of the thesis presents the findings of a survey conducted among 190 Slovenian and Spanish eight- and nine-year-olds. The results of the survey show that the overall knowledge of Slovenian and Spanish primary-school children on road safety is satisfactory. Comparing the genders, girls have got more knowledge of road safety and act in a safer manner than boys. Comparing eight- and nine-year-olds, eight-year-olds have got better knowledge of road safety, whereas comparing the two countries shows that Slovenian pupils have got better knowledge than their Spanish peers.
