Abstract

Secondary language: English
Secondary title: Combined heat and power use of Stirling engine
Secondary abstract: The thesis describes cogeneration of heat and electricity featuring Stirling engine, its operation, and installation of two micro cogeneration systems instead of the currently used conventional heating system and electricity supply. Given the current cost of electricity and the primary energy source, the use of micro cogeneration units with natural gas is not found to be economically justified. The use of pellets as a primary energy source with the unit is economical due to its higher electrical and thermal power efficiency.
