Abstract

V diplomski nalogi predstavimo virtualne delovne postaje kot alternativo tradicionalnim osebnim računalnikom. S pomočjo gradiv smo prišli do podatka, da so analitiki napovedali, da bo od leta 2009 do leta 2014 približno 45 odstotkov vseh poslovnih namizij v virtualni obliki. Danes je stanje drugačno, saj se ocenjuje delež virtualiziranih namizij na zgolj 3 odstotke. Kot glavno vodilo naloge je iskanje odgovora, zakaj je prišlo do takega odstopanja ter kakšne so prednosti in predvsem težave uvedbe virtualiziranega sistema delovnih postaj. Z razlago korakov implementacije in stroškovno analizo smo prišli do zaključka, v katerem razložimo faktorje, ki najbolj vplivajo na to, da se neko podjetje kljub tehnološkim prednostim ne odloči za uvedbo virtualnega sistema delovnih postaj.

Secondary abstract: In this BA thesis a virtual workstation is presented as an alternative to the traditional personal computer. The data about analysts' predictions derived from the study resources show that in the years from 2009 to 2014 approximately 45 percent of all business desktops have been in the virtual form. Today, however, the situation is much different. It is estimated, namely, that the share of the virtualized desktops represents only 3 percent. The main objective of this BA thesis is thus to answer the important question, namely why there has been such a significant discrepancy, and further on, what are the advantages and especially disadvantages or difficulties in the introduction of the virtualized system of the workstations. Explaining the steps of the implementation and doing the cost analysis has brought us to the conclusion in which we explain the factors that most contribute to the fact that companies avoid introducing the system of the virtual workstations in spite of many technological advantages.
