Abstract

V teoretičnem delu sem v prvem delu predstavila zgodovinski pregled opisnega ocenjevanja in v drugem delu zakonsko in strokovno podlago sodobnega koncepta opisnega ocenjevanja.

Secondary title: ANALYSIS OF DESCRIPTIVE EVALUATION: TEACHER AND PARENT PERSPECTIVE
Secondary abstract: The purpose of this Master Thesis, entitled Analysis of Descriptive Evaluation: Teachers' and Parents' Perspective, is to present how understandable and informative descriptive evaluation is according to parents' opinion, as well as their suggestions for the improvement of this method of assessing students' achievements. Furthermore, the thesis presents teachers' point of view, the way they handle descriptive evaluation in practice, the difficulties they encounter and their suggestions for the improvement of this concept of assessing students' achievements. The theoretical section consists of two parts. The first part comprises a historical overview of descriptive evaluation; the second part comprises legal and technical foundations of the modern concept of descriptive evaluation. In the empirical section, quantitative and qualitative descriptive research methods of empirical research were used. Based on a questionnaire survey, we present the opinions of 115 parents about descriptive evaluation. Although the parents find descriptive evaluation understandable and informative, they have uttered a wish for assessment based on a numerical scale. Opinions of seven teachers about descriptive evaluation were presented in the second part. The method of qualitative research was interview. The teachers expressed their preference for descriptive evaluation. They write the descriptive evaluation on their own, with the help of two computer programmes: Lopolis or eAsistent. However, the process of writing is rather time-consuming. They encounter most problems with proper technical vocabulary. The teachers taking part in the research believe that parents understand descriptive evaluation with additional explanations.
