Abstract

Secondary title: SAME SEX PARENTHOOD IN SLOVENIA AND SCOTLAND
Secondary abstract: In this thesis we are presenting same-sex parenthood, which today, despite social development and progressive liberal mindset, is still a big taboo in Slovenia. Unlike people in Slovenia, people of Scotland are more tolerant of same-sex partners. This is also indicated by their law, which allows same-sex partners to adopt a child. In our research, we are confining ourselves mainly on possibility of adopting a child and not so much on other possibilities of caring for a child, such as guardianship or foster care. We are also devoting a few words in regard to medically assisted reproduction. We are presenting, the current state in the field of adoption by same-sex couples, through use of the primary and secondary sources, analysis of the media, technical and scientific papers, legislation, monographs and Internet resources.
