| Secondary title: | Development of investment banking in Slovenia |
| Secondary abstract: | This diploma seminar offers a detailed overview of investment banking market in Slovenia. With the help of certain periods it shows the development of Slovenian banking. It shows what banking legally represents in Slovenia and what banks can actually legally do. Largest investment banks in the world are also shown according to the commission obtained and the current economic situation in which they are located. The empirical part includes five biggest banks in Slovenia in terms of market share. Comparison between them is included, showing the revenues from investment banking. It also specifically shows the comparison between the revenues from corporate finance. Period that is used is the period between the years 2007 and 2013. That clearly shows the dynamics before the financial and debt crisis and during the duration of it. Investment banking revenues in Slovenia fell heavily during the financial and debt crisis and represent just a small part of all income that banks are generating. Nevertheless, investment banking is an extremely important part of the banking system and the economy in general. |
