Abstract

Namen našega dela je bil določiti spremembo standardne proste energije alkoholov pri porazdelitvi med mobilno in stacionarno fazo. Vrednosti smo določili na podlagi različnih retencijskih časov alkoholov v homologni vrsti od butan-1-ola do oktan-1-ola in vključno tudi dekan-1-ola. Za merjenje smo uporabili plinski kromatograf s kapilarno kolono. Ugotovili smo linearnost standardne proste energije glede na spremembo temperature kapilarne kolone in tudi linearnost glede na alkohole v homologni vrsti pri konstantni temperaturi. Z merjenjem pri različnih tlakih smo še dokazali, da je termodinamska konstanta ravnotežja neodvisna od tlaka. V samem poteku postopka za izračun standardne proste energije smo dobili še vrednosti za standardno entalpijo in standardno entropijo. Podatke lahko uporabljamo pri simulacijah podobnih separacijskih metod in predvsem v izobraževanju pri področju termodinamike in kemijskega ravnotežja.

Secondary title: DETERMINATION OF FREE ENERGY OF ALCOHOLS USING CAPILLARY GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY
Secondary abstract: The aim of our work was to determine the change of the standard free energy of alcohols in the distribution between the mobile and stationary phase. Values were determined based on different retention times of a homologous series of alcohols from butan-1-ol to octan-1-ol, and including also decan-1-ol. For measurements, we used a gas chromatograph with a capillary column. We have found the linearity of the standard free energy according to the change of temperature of the capillary column and the linearity with respect to the homologous series of alcohols at a constant temperature. By measuring at different pressures, we have shown that the thermodynamic equilibrium constant is independent of pressure. In the course of the procedure for the calculation of the standard free energy, we have defined other standard enthalpy and standard entropy values. The data can be used to simulate similar separation methods, and in particular in education in the field of thermodynamics and chemical equilibrium.
