Abstract
Popolna tema nam daje občutek utesnjenosti, zato potrebujemo umetno svetlobo.

Light pollution in Tenerife |
Secondary abstract: |
In complete darkness we feel a sense of anxiety that is why we need artificial light. With the wasteful use of lightening we have exceeded its beneficial uses; in addition we have taken the landscape's identity away. Light pollution increases natural light of the environment and is seen as the glowing of the sky in the direction of the light source. Despite warnings from environmentalist mostly people are indifferent when they hear the term light pollution. Above all when speaking about the harmful effects of artificial light at astronomical observations at night, the interference on the biorhythm of flora and fauna, increased greenhouse gases emissions increasing the effect of greenhouse gases and changing cultural landscape. However, until they hear the consequences which are related to each individual. How we are unnecessarily paying much higher bills for electricity consumption as we could, how artificial light affects our health, it can cause cancer, how due to improper lighting on the road the glare is increased, which disturbs our sight and finally how our children are perhaps the next generation that will no longer be able to enjoy an authentic night sky. When we start to think about the problem more broadly, we are aware of the seriousness of it. With the quality of street lighting and the rational layout we can achieve amazing results. Those that are not shaded and those that are partially shaded must be given to the write off and be replaced with the eco lamps which are installed correctly. They shine on the place where light is needed rather than into the atmosphere where it is useless. In some places lighting in the second half of the night may be turned off, because at that time most people are inactive. With the right measures we could help to smaller degradation of the environment, where we live. The study of light pollution is supported by extensive fieldwork on one of the Canary Islands - Tenerife. The thesis contains collecting of materials for a period of three month's stay on the island with the measurements and the photographs of the glows of the sky and lighting sources as examples of bad practice. |
