Abstract

Vsakodnevno smo povezani s spletom in vse bolj smo podvrženi njegovemu vplivu. Ena izmed novejših in najljubših oblik komunikacije so postala socialna družbena omrežja, ki uporabnikom omogočajo takojšnjo izmenjavo informacij in oblikovanje lastne identitete. Vedno znova se postavljajo vprašanja o tem, kako razširjena socialna družbena omrežja (npr. Facebook) vplivajo na osebnost in odnose med ljudmi? Kako uporabniki spletnih socialnih omrežij skrbijo za lastno varnost in zasebnost svojih osebnih podatkov? Ali na nastavitve zasebnosti vpliva osebnost uporabnika? V zadnjem času pridobivamo vedno več odgovorov na takšna vprašanja, vendar se od raziskave do raziskave razlikujejo. V naši raziskavi je sodelovalo 117 (46 moških in 71 žensk) udeležencev. Izbrali smo le posameznike, ki so registrirani na socialnem omrežju Facebook in so stari med 25 in 44 let. Največ sodelujočih je bilo starih med 25 in 29 let, glede na izobrazbo pa so prevladovali posamezniki s končano srednjo/poklicno šolo (43 %). Sestavili smo sklop vprašanj za uporabo, prijateljstvo in zasebnost na socialnem omrežju Facebook, podatke o osebnosti pa smo zbrali s pomočjo osebnostnega vprašalnika BFI (angl. Big Five Inventory).

Secondary abstract: Seeing as we are connected to the internet on a daily basis, its impact on our lives is growing. One of the most recent and popular communication types, social networks enable users instant information exchange and help them build their own identities. Time and again, questions come up how the spread of social networks (e.g. Facebook) affects one's personality and interpersonal relationships. How do social network users manage their own safety and the privacy of their personal information? Does the user's personality type play a role with regard to privacy settings? Recently, there has been an onslaught of answers to such questions; however they differ from research to research. Our research included 117 participants (of which 46 men and 71 women). We only included people who have a Facebook account and are in the age range of 25 to 44 years. The majority of participants were in the age range between 25 and 29 years. In terms of education, the majority was made up of people with a middle school/vocational school degree (43%). We drew up a set of questions regarding Facebook usage, friendships and privacy, while the personality data was collected by means of a personality questionnaire called the Big Five Inventory.
