Secondary abstract: | Screw conveyors are an important part of transport devices. They are used to transport fine materials over shorter distances. The development of computer capabilities helped develop the discrete element method, which can help us plan devices for transport. The thesis therefore presents an approach and the execution of a numerical simulation of the transport of granular zeolite with a screw conveyor in the EDEM software package. The focus is on the settings and the appropriate boundary conditions that are necessary for the execution of the numerical simulation. The numerical simulation was carried out at different speeds and in different inclinations. In the end, the results obtained by the numerical analysis of the capabilities of the screw conveyor were compared with analytical calculations. |
