Abstract

Secondary title: Reorganization of thermal heating system in the ACB Vransko
Secondary abstract: This thesis deals with an estimation of the economic viability of the investment in the wood chip heating system at ACB Vransko. Since the current heating system is based on LPG mixture of propane butane, which is more expensive energy source, and since the maintenance of the highways by tree felling results in the production of wooden biomass, further being discarded in nature, we estimate that the replacement of the existing heating system with the wood chip heating system would generate substantial savings. In addition to the latter such an investment also results in positive effects on the environment since the wood is CO2 neutral. The net present value of the investment is positive and the internal rate of return is 107%, which led us to an estimation that the investment is economically viable. The decrease in the average annual CO2 emissions were calculated at 62.6 tones or 100%.
