Abstract

Secondary title: AUTOMATION OF TESTING MACHINE FOR DYNAMIC LOADING OF SPECIMENS
Secondary abstract: There is a growing need for automated mechanical systems in materials testing. The reason for that lies in the constant development of new materials with better physical properties, which are used for all kinds of different purposes, from medical implants to load-bearing components in airplanes, but we can not reliably predict their dynamic behaviour and fatigue. For this purpose, a machine with an eccentric lever has been developed, which is being used for flexural orcyclic loading with adjustable offset distanceand is being run by a three-phase asynchronous electric motor with a frequency converter. The entire system is automated by National Instruments data acquisition hardware and LabVIEW software. Developed system allows configuration of data acquisition and data logging parameters for different geometries of specimens.
