Abstract

Secondary title: Travel behaviour in the municipality Miklavž na Dravskem polju
Secondary abstract: The largest share of energy in Slovenia has been consumed in the transport sector. Furthermore, transport has several negative impacts on humans and the environment. Road transport by cars is particularly critical. The aim of planning urban sustainable mobility is to introduce sustainable forms of transport (e.g. public transport and cycling). Sustainable mobility means to ensure effective mobility for all people while minimizing the consumption of non-renewable energy resources and negative environmental impacts, which will be reflected in the improvement of quality of life. Sustainable mobility requires respect for economic, social and natural restrictions and responsible behaviour towards future generations. In the diploma, the Municipality of Miklavž na Dravskem polju has been taken to study travel habits of residents and their transport means in everyday activities (free-time and work-related activities) and during holidays. The main key finding of the mobility survey in the municipality is that most of respondents do not use public transport, although it is well organized. Despite the relatively high price of motor fuel, they still most frequently use a passenger car. Even the transport of children to school is still dominated by personal car transport with a slight increase in the use of public transport modes. In the future, the increased use of public transport could improve living conditions of the residents.
