Abstract

Secondary title: RENEWAL OF JOŠTOV MILL IN CELJE ARCHITECTURAL REANIMATION
Secondary abstract: Master's thesis provides a solution in a form of a conceptual renovation of Jošt's mill in Celje, which is a specific example of an industrial architectural heritage from the first half of the 20th century and has symbolic historical aspects that are associated with the legacy of the Counts of Celje. The core of the assignment is the relationship between the old and the new, which is reflected in the architectural renovation. Consequently, the study touches three keysets that dictate the starting point of reanimation of Jošt's mill; the old and the new in architecture, renovation and the specifics of industrial architecture. The conceptual solution of the reanimation is based on a theoretical base and architectural analyzes, and responds to the relation of the old and the new in a way that preserves all the valuable parts of the old building structure, and compliments it with it's own design approach. New moves away from the old, and the strong conceptual design additionally highlights the character of the existing building mass. The abandoned industrial architecture is subsuquently no longer a problem but a solution that has an added value along with the new architectural interventions.
