Abstract

Rezultati prikazujejo ocene anketiranih učiteljev o učiteljevem delovanju v kolektivu, o zadovoljstvu in počutju učitelja.

Secondary title: THE SOCIAL STATUS OF PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS IN SLOVENIA AND POLAND
Secondary abstract: The diploma thesis titled The social status of a class teacher in Slovenia and in Poland covers some of the aspects of a class teacher's social status in Slovenia and Poland. Namely, each individual has a social status, ascribed already at birth or build throughout life. The theoretical part of the thesis introduces the definition of society and status, as well as presents various types of social status. A historic overview of teaching as a profession in Poland is included, while also providing the statistical data regarding the Slovenian primary school teachers. We have also described a typical working day of a Slovenian and Polish teacher. We conclude the theoretical part by presenting the contemporary teacher as a professional and an individual. The empirical part of the thesis offers the findings of a research conducted among the class teachers from Slovenia and Poland. The results reflect the teachers' opinions on working as a member of the personnel, satisfaction and well-being. The instrument used to collect the research data is presented in the thesis. It reveals that the contemporary class teachers feel less respect and personal satisfaction. Some teachers also find it difficult to collaborate successfully with other members of their personnel, while some are contemplating a change of their current vocation.
