Abstract
Proces opolnomočenja v zdravstveni negi je način dela v zdravstveni negi, ki omogoča medicinskim sestram večjo učinkovitost pri delu ter posledično pripomore k dvigu samozavesti in večjemu občutku pripadnosti organizaciji, v kateri so medicinske sestre zaposlene. Z diplomskim delom smo želeli opisati in analizirati teoretična ozadja procesa opolnomočenja medicinskih sester v zdravstveni negi.
Raziskovalna metodologija: Pri izdelavi diplomskega dela smo uporabili deskriptivno metodo dela ter metodo analize in sinteze strokovne literature.
Rezultati: Ključni ugotovitvi diplomskega dela sta, da imajo prav strokovni vodje zdravstvene nege najpomembnejšo vlogo v procesu opolnomočenja, ter da ima tradicionalna podoba medicinskih sester močan vpliv na sodobni proces opolnomočenja, ki se je prav zaradi stanja v tedanji družbi, pričel nekoliko pozno. Ugotovili smo, da imajo pogosto strokovni vodje zdravstvene nege največjo odgovornost, da proces opolnomočenja na oddelku oziroma v organizaciji ne steče. Pomembno je, da vodilna mesta v zdravstveni negi zasedajo ustrezno izobražene medicinske sestre, z ustreznimi znanji s področja opolnomočenja v zdravstveni negi. Menimo, da so na sam proces opolnomočenja v zdravstveni negi odločilno vplivala gibanja za enakopravnost žensk na začetku prejšnjega stoletja.
Sklep: Ključnega pomena v procesu opolnomočenja v zdravstveni negi so enotnost zaposlenih ter vodstva zdravstvene nege, vizija uspeha, pripravljenost za spremembe ter pripravljenost prevzemanja odgovornosti. Proces opolnomočenja v zdravstveni negi pozitivno vpliva na delo medicinskih sester in posledično na dobrobit pacientov.

Theoretical basis: The process of empowerment in nursing is an organizational theory based on social and educational strength of nurses. There are compelling reasons to empower nurses. Powerless nurses are ineffective and they are less satisfied with their jobs and more susceptible to burnout.
Purpose: In this graduation thesis we have aimed to evaluate and explore the process of empowerment as an important condition for nursing staff.
Methodology: In this study we have used descriptive methodology as well as method of analyse the literature.
Results: Our study begins with an examination of the concept of power, continues to a historical review of nurses’ power over nursing practice and concludes with a discussion on the current state of nursing empowerment related to nursing care. This thesis is also a report on a descriptive study of nurse leaders’ perspective of the outcomes of a formal leadership programme. Moreover, our study provides evidence that a theoretical empowerment framework and strategies can empower nurse leaders, potentially resulting in staff empowerment. Last but not least, this study also aims to investigate the influence of nurses’ historical role on current process of empowerment in nursing.
Resolution: The process of empowerment in nursing could only be successful when nursing stuff and nursing leaders are united in search of a better and more perspective future for nurses and subsequently for patients. |
