Abstract

Otroci s to obliko kromosomske anomalije so pri nas obravnavani v razvojni ambulanti, kjer ocenjujejo, testirajo in spodbujajo njihove razvojne sposobnosti.

Secondary title: TREATMENT OF CHILDREN WITH DOWN SYNDROME
Secondary abstract: In this thesis we present a child with Down syndrome. Down syndrome or trisomy 21, is a chromosomal disorder that causes congenital abnormalities and cognitive – motion lag. Children with this form of chromosomal abnormalities are treated in the development clinic, where they evaluate, test and encourage their development skills. Nurse in this clinic has a very challeging task. With appropriate communication and good professional skills, she must be able to stand on the side of parents and the child. At the same time she has to be successfully involved in the medical treatment. In this thesis, we particulary wanted to determine whether these children have more health problems than their peers. We also wanted to highlight their current and potential care problems.
