Abstract

V nalogi bodo predstavljene prednosti hitro odzivnega sistema vodenja prometa v urbanih okoljih v primerjavi z neodzivnim, ki predstavlja večino sistemov v slovenskih mestih.

Secondary title: ON-LINE RESPONSE DYNAMIC TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SYSTEM IN URBAN AREAS
Secondary abstract: This Master's work deals with analyzing dynamic traffic model of traffic delays, capacity, speed and other indicators, which affect on road traffic characteristics and living conditions in urban areas. Traffic models will include medium-size road network (lane type, lane width, lane length and lane grade), centroids, traffic data for morning peak hour period (OD matrices, structure and movement of traffic flow within a peak hour), intersections (sign control, roundabout, signals - phasing & timing) and will be analyzed by the predisposition of exist/no exist a specific barrier (work zone or traffic accident) on the road network. The advantages of the on-line response traffic management system in urban areas in comparison to non response system, which represent a majority in cities in Slovenia, will be demonstrated in the paper. The model of on-line response traffic management system will be built on the usage of many different detectors (speed, occupancy and video) and variable message signs. Two almost identical micro dynamic simulations will be performed, based on evaluation of differences in traffic characteristics the conclusion will be made and possible advantages of usage of on-line response TMS in real Slovenian urban areas will be shown.
