Abstract

Magistrsko delo se ukvarja z diskurzivnimi postopki ustvarjanja "evropskosti" in "neevropskosti" v slovenskem medijskem diskurzu, in sicer na podlagi člankov iz časopisa Delo v dveh obdobjih: od začetka izhajanja Dela do osamosvojitve Slovenije (1959-1991) in po osamosvojitvi Slovenije do danes (1991-2010). Temeljno teoretično in metodološko ogrodje naloge je kritična diskurzivna analiza, in sicer uporabimo diskurzivno-zgodovinski pristop, ki je zlasti uporaben za analizo diskurzivnih in retoričnih sprememb v zgodovinskem kontekstu, saj omogoča analizi zgodovinskih dimenzij diskurzivnih dejanj raziskovanje načinov, v katerih so posamezni stili diskurza subjekti diahronih sprememb (Wodak 2001: 65). Namen magistrskega dela je ob interpretaciji čustvenosti besedja in upoštevanju vseh sestavin konteksta (diskurzivni, politični, zgodovinski idr.), vsebine člankov in medsebojne povezanosti slovničnih kategorij prikazati, ali in kako se poimenovanja besed časovno spreminjajo glede na družbeno-politični kontekst. Ugotovitve naloge kažejo, da se poimenovanja in kontekst člankov, ki obravnavajo "neevropske" države, v času spreminjajo glede na zgodovinski položaj Slovenije in s tem povezano politično usmerjenost oziroma prevladujočo ideologijo določenega obdobja.

Secondary title: Discursive strategies of constructing ethnic identities in Slovene media discourse
Secondary abstract: The master's thesis deals with the discursive processes of creating "Europeanism" and "Non-Europeanism" in the Slovenian media discourse on the basis of the newspaper articles from Delo from two different periods; from the first publications of Delo to the period when Slovenia gained independence and secondly, from the period after Slovenia gained independence till today (1991-2010). The fundamental theoretical and methodological framework of this master's thesis is a critical discursive analysis. We shall use a discursive-historical approach, which is particularly useful in analyzing discursive and rhetoric changes in the historic context. It allows the analysis of the historical dimensions of the discursive acts to research the ways in which the individual styles of discourse are subjects of diachronic changes (Wodak 2001: 65). The objective of this master's thesis is to show, taking into consideration the sentimentality of the vocabulary and with the consideration of every contextual component (discursive, political, historical and so forth), the content of the articles and the mutually intertwined grammatical categories, if and how the naming of the words change throughout time in respect to the socio political context. The findings of the paper show that the naming and the context of the articles, which deal with "non-European" countries change through time. They change based on the historical position of Slovenia and the correlating dominant ideology of a specific period.
