magistrsko delo Management v zdravstvu in socialnem varstvu

Abstract

Patronažno varstvo zajema izredno pestro simptomatiko in problematiko.

Secondary title: HEALTH RISK FACTORS OF DISTRICT NURSES
Secondary abstract: Community nursing covers extremely diverse symptoms and issues. While the need for community nursing care is projected to increase, contemporary trends in society favour care of the individual at home for as long as possible where he or she can remain active, healthy and self-sufficient. Several types of violence, traffic, weather conditions, timeliness of information, and inadequate working environment are risk factors that are presented in this master thesis and they. Community nurses often experience verbal abuse (93%), followed by violence caused by pets, and then physical violence. More than half of respondents at least once experienced violence outside the home of a patient in a parking lot or yard. Since violence is not the most pressing problem, we tend to conclude that it is either not recognized or it is accepted as part of our society and services. Other more prominent problems are use of one’s own vehicle for fieldwork, unrecognisability, inadequate clothing and footwear, and inadequate environment for the implementation of health care interventions. Furthermore, the bad flow of information and poor interpersonal professional collaboration and teamwork hamper the work of nurses. In every workplace there are certain risk factors that cannot be eliminated entirely, but by improving the flow of information, integrating information systems, and offering a higher recognition of community nurses, certain risk factors could effectively be avoided. Nurses can gain additional knowledge and accumulate experience by their own initiative. Regulated private lives and care for their own health and psychophysical condition also contribute to their wellbeing and perhaps may promote better reactions to angry or violent patients. However, certain circumstances are beyond anyone’s control. Individuals are unique, and as such, both extremely interesting and unpredictable at the same time.
