Abstract

Namen diplomske naloge je primerjati SQL in NoSQL podatkovno bazo. S pomočjo mobilne aplikacije Pridem smo analizirali razlike med podatkovnima bazama, katera omogoča boljše skaliranje podatkov in kdaj je primerno uporabiti SQL in kdaj NoSQL podatkovno bazo. Med raziskavo smo se omejili na Google App Engine Datastore in MySQL tehnologijo. Z obema tehnologijama smo implementirali strežniški del za mobilno aplikacijo. Na podlagi rešitev smo prikazali razlike, prednosti ter slabosti obeh podatkovnih baz. Na koncu smo ugotovili, katera rešitev je bolj primerna za našo mobilno aplikacijo.

Secondary abstract: The purpose of this diploma thesis is to compare the SQL and the NoSQL databases. With the help of the “Pridem” mobile application we analysed the differences between the two databases, which database enables better data scaling and when it would be appropriate to use the SQL and when the NoSQL database. We used both technologies to implement the server part for the mobile application. Based on the solutions, we have presented the differences, advantages and disadvantages of both databases. At the end, we determined which solution is better for our mobile application.
