Abstract

Secondary title: PROJECT WORK USING PUPPETS IN INEGRATION WITH OTHER AREAS OF CURRICULUM
Secondary abstract: The thesis titled Project Work Using Puppets in Integration with Other Areas of Curriculum consists of theoretical and practical part and is written based on academic literature. In the theoretical part, we defined what a puppet was, its significance for child development and how it could be used within the educational process. We have discussed and studied the connections that puppets had with other areas of curriculum. Project work as a didactic model was analysed according to various work stages and tasks that were important during our presentation of the practical part. In the practical part, we described the realisation of our project with the help of lesson plans and imagery. In addition to the inclusion of the favoured puppet into a group, the project%s aims were also to learn about animals in a fun way outside a familiar and domestic environment, and the familiarization of the world and the living environment. The project was carried out in a second level of transition, a group of 5-6 year-old children. It was performed with the help of the favoured puppet in the period from the 26th January, 2015 to 30th of March, 2015. The favoured puppet's inclusion into the group % the teasing Oskar, had an important influence on the children. It was a new and fun way of discovering new topics, this time an unknown animal world. Children learned about the planet Earth, the continents, and the animals living on individual continents and about their living environment. The project was completed with a performance for parents where we introduced everything the children have learned in the project.
