Abstract

Cilj diplomske naloge je implementirati dve metodi za stiskanje trikotniških mrež, ki so shranjene v datotekah STL (STereoLithography). V nalogi je predstavljena struktura datoteke STL in opisani dve metodi za stiskanje trikotniških mrež: metoda De Florianijeve s sodelavci in metoda Gumhold-Strasserja. Obe temeljita na principu rezanja robov. Delovanje metod in pravilnost implementacije prikažemo na konkretnih primerih.

Secondary abstract: The aim of this diploma work is to implement two methods used for the compression of triangular meshes, which are stored in STL files (STereoLithography). The descriptions of the STL file structure is given firstly. After that the of De Floriani et. al. and Gumhold-Strasser methods are explained. Both methods use the cut-border technique. The methods' functioning and the correctness of the implementation have been confirmed experimentally.
