Abstract

Izhodišča: Pojem motnja v duševnem razvoju si vsakdo razlaga različno, vendar le redko kdo ve, da se le ta po navadi pokaže že ob rojstvu. Inteligenčne sposobnosti posameznika v tem primeru ne dosegajo ravni, ki je primerna za določeno starost. Raziskovalne metode: V diplomskem delu smo uporabili deskriptivno metodo dela. Za izdelavo teoretičnega dela smo uporabili slovensko in tujo literaturo, ter elektronske vire. V raziskovalnem delu smo uporabili kvantitativno metodo dela. Kot instrument raziskave smo uporabili anketni vprašalnik, ki smo ga izvedli v ZUDV Dr. Marijana Borštnerja v Dornavi. Rezultati: Z raziskavo smo ugotovili, da se člani negovalnega tima srečujejo z različnimi težavami pri delu z otroci z motnjami v duševnem razvoju. Najpogostejša med njimi je ta, da nimajo dovolj časa na razpolago za posameznega otroka, ki bi mu ga lahko namenili. Sledijo ji vzpostavitev komunikacije z otroci, izpolnjevanje otrokovih želja in zagotovitev kakovostne obravnave. S pomočjo raziskave smo ugotovili tudi, da večina zaposlenih meni, da ima dovolj znanja in veščin za to delo in pri svojem delu nimajo nobenih predsodkov. Diskusija in zaključek: Motnja v duševnem razvoju se v večini primerov pokaže že ob rojstvu. Družina ima v obravnavi otroka z motnjo v duševnem razvoju zelo pomembno vlogo. Člani negovalnega tima potrebujejo veliko izkušenj, strokovnega znanja, potrpežljivosti in empatije za delo s takšnimi otroci.

Secondary abstract: Framework: Every person interprets the concept of mental disability differently, but only a few people know that this disability usually appears already at birth. The intellectual abilities of an individual in this case do not achieve the level that is appropriate for a certain age. Research methods: In this thesis, we used a descriptive method of work. For the production of the theoretical part we used Slovene and foreign literature, and also electronic sources. In the research, we used a quantitative method of work. As the research instrument, a questionnaire was used which was carried out at the Institute for training, work and care service in Dornava. Results: With helps of the research it was found out that members of the nursing team face various problems in working with children with mental disabilities. The most common problem is that they don’t have sufficient time available for each child that could be devoted to him. Other problems are establishment of communication with children, fulfilment of children`s wishes, and assurance of the quality treatment. Through research, we also found out that the majority of employees think that they have sufficient knowledge and skills for this work, and they do not have any prejudices. Discussion and conclusion: In most cases, mental disability appears already at birth. Family has a very important role in treating a child with mental disability. The members of the nursing team need many experiences, expert knowledge, patience and empathy for working with such children.
