diplomsko delo visokošolskega strokovnega študijskega programa I. stopnje
Abstract

Adjusting the iron content in Zn-phosphate bath during the process of Zn-phosphating |
Secondary abstract: |
The purpose of our thesis was regulation of the iron content, during the process of zinc-phosphating, in the zinc-phosphate bath with a temperature of 55°C and pH 2. Zinc-phosphate coating is used as a porous medium on the work piece of material intended for processing or treatment, and serves as grounding on which soap is applied. During cold forming on the press, soap acts as a lubricating agent, because oils are unsuitable, due to their physical properties. In the worst case, this could lead to the welding between the tool and the processors. The coating is in its standard grey color and it can be written on.
In further proceedings of cold forming on the presses errors occur, due to excessive iron content. Work pieces have optimal characteristics at a concentration of iron around 4 g/L. At concentrations higher than 7 g/L phosphate bath needs to be emptied and a new one has to be placed. In such cases additional costs occur, because the whole process is stopped, the purchase of new chemicals is required and a treatment of waste waters at the treatment plant.
The purpose of the work was to balance the concentration of iron on the desired level. With this we could achieve a higher quality of semi-finished products and reduce costs for the purchase of chemicals. The process of manufacturing would take place without major interruptions. With excessive iron concentration phosphate bath needs to be pumped to the cleaning plant and bath needs to be reset. Proposed method would reduce the cost of cleaning plants for the treatment of heavy metals. We would also achieve a lower level of river pollution by discharges. |
