Abstract

V diplomski nalogi smo raziskovali možnosti zamenjave tekočega s trdnim kislinskim katalizatorjem pri reakciji esterifikacije benzojske kisline z metanolom. Uporabljali smo dve vrsti trdnega katalizatorja, pri prvem smo na silikagel adsorbirali metan sulfonsko kislino, pri drugem smo metan sulfonsko kislino kovalentno vezali s 3-(trimetoksisilil)-1-propantiolom. Z adsorbiranim katalizatorjem smo dobili zelo nizke presnove, zato smo ta del eksperimentov kmalu opustili in se osredotočili na silaniziran katalizator. Reakcijo smo izvajali v dveh različnih šaržnih reaktorjih in sicer v enem smo mešanje izvajali s stresalnikom, v drugem z magnetnim mešalom. Trdni silaniziran katalizator smo uporabili večkrat zaporedoma in ugotavljali spreminjanje presnove reakcije. Reakcije smo izvajali pri različnih temperaturah. Na osnovi izmerjenih koncentracij smo izračunali konstante reakcijske hitrosti, aktivacijsko energijo in predeksponentni faktor izbrane reakcije esterifikacije.

Secondary abstract: In this diploma work we investigated the possibilities of performing esterification reaction of benzioc acid with methanol in the presence of a solid acid catalyst instead of a liquid one. We used two different solid catalysts. The first one was methane sulphonic acid adsorbed on a silica gel and the second one was methane sulphonic acid, covalently bonded on a silica gel with 3-(trimetoxysilyl)-1-propantiol. With the adsorbed catalyst low fractional conversions were achieved, therefore we didn't continue with the experiments. Instead we focused on the silanized catalyst. Two different batch reactors were used for our reaction. In the first one a shaker was used for mixing and magnetic stirrer in the second one. We also reused the solid catalyst and followed the decrease of conversion. Reactions were carried out at different temperatures. Based on measured concentrations, we calculated the reaction rate constant, activation energy and pre-exponential factor.
