Abstract

Secondary title: RIGHTS OF TALENTED CHILDREN IN PRIMARY SCHOOL
Secondary abstract: We can detect children with gift and above-average abilities at a very early development. It is important that such children receive special attention and have certain rights. Throughout the thesis I want to show how law defines gifted and above-average children's abilities and some definitions of the other professional literature. At first parents have the biggest role in discovering if their child is gifted or have above-average abilities and later together with them that can also be discovered by educators and teachers. Primary and secondary schools have formed a special procedure under which they discover talented students. Talented children have certain special rights as defined by law because of their characteristics, have different needs and also may experience difficulties and problems. The aim of this thesis is to determine how to ensure the rights of gifted children in kindergartens and schools, and if perhaps these rights constitute discrimination against other children.
