Abstract

V magistrskem delu smo preučevali odnos staršev osrednjeslovenske regije do predmeta šport. Raziskavo smo izvedli s kvantitativnim raziskovalnim pristopom, kjer smo uporabili deskriptivno in kavzalno neeksperimentalno metodo. V vzorec smo zajeli 280 staršev, katerih otroci obiskujejo prvo in drugo triletje različnih osnovnih šol osrednjeslovenske regije. Janko Strel s sodelavci (1996). Anketnemu vprašalniku smo za potrebe naše raziskave dodali vprašanja. Spremenljivke anketnega vprašalnika smo vnesli v računalniški program Microsoft Excel, nato pa smo podatke obdelali z računalniškim programom SPSS in jih prikazali v tabelah in grafih. Uporabili smo osnovne statistične postopke: aritmetično sredino, odstotke pogostosti odgovorov, frekvence pojavljanja odgovorov, najmanjšo in največjo vrednost, komulativne frekvence in standardni odklon.

Secondary title: Parents' attitude towards physical education in central Slovenia
Secondary abstract: In this thesis, we studied the attitude of Central Slovenian parents towards the subject of Physical Education. We focused on the following research questions: - What do the parents think about the Physical Education subject they had in primary school? - What was the parents' sports activity like in primary school and what is it like now? - What do parents think about the benefits of the subject of Physical Education subject for the child's development? - How important do the parents find the subject of Physical Education comparing to other subjects? - What do the parents think about some characteristics of the Physical Education subject on the first level of primary school? The research was carried out with a quantitative research approach, in which we used a descriptive and (a) causal, non-experimental method. The sample included 280 parents whose children attend the first or the second triade in various primary schools of Central Slovenia. The data were gathered through an anonymous questionnaire that was also used in »The Analysis of Developmental Trends of Motor Skills and Morphological Dimensions and the Relation of Both to Psychological and Sociological Dimensions of Slovene Children and Youth between Seven and Eighteen Years of Age, During the 1970-83-93 Period«, by Janko Strel et al (1996). A few questions were added for the purposes of our research. The Questionnaire variables were entered into the Microsoft Excel software and then analyzed with SPSS software to present the data in tables and graphs. We used these standard statistical procedures: arithmetic mean, percentages of response frequencies, response occurrence frequencies, the minimum and maximum value, cumulative frequency and standard deviation. The results show that the respondents generally have a positive attitude towards the subject of Physical Education and have expressed a positive attitude towards Physical Education they had in primary school. The respondents believe that the subject of Physical Education plays an important role in all aspects of the child's development (physical, cognitive, mental and social). More than half of respondents believe that the subject of Physical Education is 'important' or 'very important' for the general education of each individual. Nevertheless, more than half of the parents failed to identify the subject of Physical Education as one of the three most important subjects for their child. The majority chose Slovene, Mathematics and English.
