Abstract

Secondary title: STUDENT HEALTH SERVICE
Secondary abstract: Health service is one of the most important areas of social security and has great significance for all groups of people, not just for students. Health service also includes health insurance. Health insurance is devided into compulsory and supplementary health insurance. Compulsory health insurance includes all groups of people defined by law. Compulsory health insurance covers medical services up to a certain height. The rest is covered by supplementary health insurance. Health insurance is for students organized differently than for other groups of people. At time of study, student up to the age of 26 is treated as a family member of the insured person (in most case parents through which the student is insured) and is entitled to all services covered by the compulsory and supplementary health insurance. Students do not have to pay anything for insurance. People who lost their student status, students of 26 years of age and students who fulfill other conditions laid down by law must arrange compulsory and supplementary health insurance by themselves, because they could no longer be insured as a family member. Students who are not insured are entitled only to emergency medical treatment.
