Abstract

Secondary title: USE AND LIMITATIONS OF WEB TECHNOLOGIES WHEN BUILDING EFFICIENT USER INTERFACES
Secondary abstract: User interfaces serve a purpose of communication between the user and the application. It is therefore important for them to be well designed and interactive, a feat that was previously impossible to achieve when limiting oneself to a single technology. Technologies such as HTML, CSS, PHP, Javascript and subsequently jQuery are not capable of providing a decent solution unless paired together in a more robust application backed up by a database. When done correctly, this kind of application can be a serious contender against new technologies such as Meteor.js. Even though the latter is still in its infancy and lacking a strong support group it is already blazing a strong trail on the web. At this point, it is still wiser to choose older and proven technologies when developing complicated solutions but only time will tell how far new technologies can take us.
