Abstract

V diplomski nalogi smo predstavili mobilno platformo Android ter se pri tem osredotočili predvsem na varnostne vidike platforme. Iz mobilne trgovine Google Play smo izbrali najbolj priljubljene brezplačne aplikacije in preverili, kako učinkovito ohranjajo in varujejo uporabnikovo zasebnost. Primerjali smo jih na osnovi Androidovih dovoljenj ter na ta način ugotovili, katera aplikacija je z vidika zasebnosti potencialno najboljša. V zadnjem delu naloge smo s pomočjo orodja za analizo mrežnega prometa Wireshark preverili, kateri podatki uhajajo ob uporabi izbranih aplikacij.

Secondary abstract: In this thesis we presented the Android mobile platform with a particular focus on the security aspects of the platform. We have chosen few of the most popular applications from Google Play app store and verify how efficiently they maintain and protect user's privacy. We compared them on the basis of Android permissions and found out which application is potentially the best from privacy perspective. In the last part of the paper we have used Wireshark, which is a tool for network analysis, to find out which data leaks with the usage of selected applications.
