Abstract

Še vedno ena najbolj priljubljenih postopkov rezanja, sta vsekakor rezanje z laserjem in vodnim curkom.

Secondary title: Decision making methods for laser or water jet cutting
Secondary abstract: To be competitive in modern times, companies have to go with the time. In the field of industry cutting, the focus is shifting away from only speedy cutting machines. More and more companies today demand also power and flexibility in the cutting process. One of the most popular cutting processes are definitely laser cutting and water jet cutting. Although they have a lots of advantages and disadvantages, they are two completely different process. [1] Laser cutting is a very fast processing method, which is limited to certain materials and the thickness of the cut. The laser beam, with the help of the gas, melts or vaporizes the material. On the other hand, water jet cutting is process, where water under high pressure, along with the abrasive, travels toward the workpiece, where the material is eroded and so cut. In this bachelor thesis, we will use the comparative method. With the results of the comparison, we will get a conclusion, which method is better for the costumer.
