Abstract

Secondary title: Removal of organic matter from industrial wastewater treatment with vacuum evaporator
Secondary abstract: The aim of this thesis is to study the removal of organic substances from industrial wastewater treatment facilities using a vacuum evaporator. We studied the process of evaporation at diffe-rent pressures and temperatures. We analyzed the presence of anionic surfactants, pH values, COD (Chemical Oxegen Demand), colouration and turbidity. We evaporated five different samples of industrial wastewater at chosen temperatures and pressures. The best process for anionic surfactant removal was found to be the sample 2.3, which we evaporated at T = 35 °C and p = 4 kPa. Efficiency of the surfactant removal was 99.9 %. In sample 2.3, the COD, pH, turbidity and colouring were also in accordance with set limit values. Efficiency of the COD removal was 95.6 %. On this basis we conclude that the wastewater sample after evaporation would be suitable for discharge into sewage system.
