Abstract

Secondary title: Oscillations of oil prices and the world economy
Secondary abstract: Based on oil production and consumption analysis, the level of dependency of individual economies on export and import of oil is explored. There is a presentation of products, manufactured out of crude oil and the relationships between supply and demand on the oil market. Historical overview of the oil price oscillations enables an insight in effects, caused by such larger market movements. Special emphasis is put on the recent oil price drop, noted during the period from July 2014 to January 2015. Through changes in supply and demand, the causes for this shock are identified. Its varying consequences are also determined, depending whether they occur in oil importing or oil exporting countries. The latter are expected to experience negative economic effects in the upcoming period.
