Secondary abstract: | This thesis describes the process and results of numerical analysis for a shell-and-tube heat exchanger model with software packages SolidWorks and Ansys CFX. The main goal was to compare the performance and results of different software packages. We create multiple three dimensional numerical simulations to predict global parameters of a heat exchanger for different Reynolds numbers. It was found that there are essential differences in the use of software packages in mesh modeling, boundary conditions settings and computation time. Furthermore, the numerical results are in good agreement with experimental measurements from literature. |
