Abstract

Finančni sistem je pomemben za delovanje narodnega gospodarstva. V zadnji finančni in gospodarski krizi se je to pokazalo še kako res. Finančni sistemi povsod po svetu so doživeli velike pretrese, velik del krivde za to pa lahko pripišemo problemom bančnih sistemov. V delu smo analizirali finančni sistem Slovenije in Cipra, pri čemer smo se omejili predvsem na analizo bančnega sektorja v obeh državah, pod drobnogled pa smo vzeli tudi zavarovalniški sektor in borzo. V nasprotju z bankami so se zavarovalnice v kriznih razmerah bolje odrezale. Dejstvo je namreč, da ob zaostrovanju kriznih razmer in povečanih tveganjih zavarovalniška dejavnost dejansko prosperira. Počasi pa se z oddaljevanjem od začetka izbruha krize manjša tudi turbulentnost dogajanj na borzah.

Secondary abstract: The financial system is important for the functioning of the national economy. The last financial and economic crisis has shown that very much indeed. Financial systems throughout the world have suffered large shocks, a large part of the blame for this can be attributed to the problem of banking systems. In the working paper, we have analyzed the financial systems of Slovenia and Cyprus, where we have been primarily focused on the analysis of the banking sector in both countries, we also took a closer look in the insurance sector and stock market. Contrary to the banks, the insurance companies in crisis do much better. The fact is that with the escalation of crisis and increased risks, the insurance activity actually prospers. With distancing from the beginning of the outbreak of the crisis, the developments on the stock markets are less turbulence.
