Abstract

Devet let kasneje so začeli graditi montažno telovadnico ob novi šoli.

Secondary abstract: The master thesis chronologically presents the development of primary education in Sveti Jurij ob Ščavnici. The beginnings of the local education date back to the 18th century. At the beginning, classes were held in a wooden caretaker`s quarters, financially supported by the parish. In 1784, there were 280 school-age children in the school district, so they built a properly big school building. After 1800, the number of students still increased and since the old wooden building was in poor condition, they decided to build a new school building in the same place. Money for the new school building was provided by the priest Pušenjak, who was very passionate about the new school. He gained the support of the diocesan ordinariate in Graz. The new building also had only one storey and was constructed of bricks and stones. The construction started in 1833, and the next year it was already finished. Due to the high number of pupils they opened another class, and so the Udine trivial school had two classes. Important years that marked the history of education in Sv. Jurij ob Ščavnici are 1959/60, when the branch school in Stara Gora was formally connected to the central primary school in Sv. Jurij ob Ščavnici, and 1998 when the branch school in Stara Gora was finally closed. In August 1971, the place looked forward to the opening of the new school building, which was considered one of the most modern buildings in the Radgona municipality. The school got seven new classrooms with offices and a library. This school year, the students from fifth to eight grade attended classes in new classrooms and at the same time they switched to one-shift classes. Nine years later, they began to build a mounting gymnasium next to the next school. Regarding space and personnel the primary school entered 2000 improved. There were various construction works and rehabilitation throughout, and with Slovenia joining the European Union the school participated in various international projects. Even today, the school is trying to enrich the educational work with many additional programs, numerous events, and with cooperation with the hometown.
