diplomsko delo
Abstract
Človeštvo ni razumelo %črt in pack%, v katerih so slikarji videli globlji pomen.

WATER AS A MOTIF IN PAINTING |
Secondary abstract: |
The diploma thesis is conceived on the basis of the theoretical treatment of water as a motif in painting. The element of water as a motif in painting was expressed through different periods in history in various forms with peculiar, different technical semantic dimensions. At the beginning of the thesis I discussed how the water was symbolically depicted as a symbol, but gradually its images were created in accordance with mimesisom. I summarized the development of wide and diverse images of marinists from 17th and 18th centuries, through realism, to modernism. I outlined the problem set that represents semantic, iconographic-ikonološke turnovers, therefore, how this phenomenon is depicted literally, metaphorically, symbolically and allegorically. Throughout all chapters, I also observed how the painters% attitude was changing in depicting motifs of water. At the beginning, I found out that the water motif was first depicted figuratively, in the form of mythological gods, various deities, nymphs; in Christianity, however, has often appeared the motif of baptism. Later, the attitude to this subject began to change and water was presented more and more realistically, as vital goods for living. When the painters moved from periods of mythological and Christian motifs, it is possible to see a huge change in the progress of painting. Marinists strongly focused on the visibility and power of the fleet naval battles, which required a great deal of precision and details. Thus, realists depicted every detail with remarkable accuracy and that brought great progress and respect to the painting. The Impressionists relaxed with their style and they wanted to capture the moment on the canvases. Their style of quick moves and thick coatings allowed them such expressions. Thus, over time, Impressionism became the basis for modern art, which experienced tremendous objections and rejection. People did not understand "lines and stains" in which artists saw deeper meaning. Nowadays, we became more receptive to modern and contemporary art, which is also better understood. |
