Abstract

Secondary title: AWARENESS OF BREAST AND TESTICLE CANCER AMONG MEN
Secondary abstract: Cancer is a disease involving abnormal cell growth. The most frequent type of cancer in men aged 15-35 is testicular cancer. Since the risk factor grows bigger with the age, this group rarely gets diagnosed with male breast cancer, but the researches show that male breast cancer occurs commonly between the ages of 60 and 70. The thesis’ main focus was awareness of men in Kozjansko region about testicular cancer and male breast cancer. For research purposes a survey has been made. The results show that men in this geographic area have very few information on testicular cancer and almost none about male breast cancer. The results also show they are not familiarized with any of the ways of self examination, because they were not given any advice on that topic. The awareness of men about testicular cancer and male breast cancer is a topic that needs to have a bigger focus in the future. Educational and health care institutions can make a serious progress in the area, because they are the ones who have an insight in individual’s life.
